The 100 Themes Challenge group is dedicated to inspiring and motivating artists of all levels of ability and experience. However, there are a few rules when submitting artwork to the group.

1. Your artwork must be properly labeled.
This means that you need to include either:
(a) the variation and theme number in the description, or title, of each submission, or
(b) the theme being used must be mentioned and the 100TC avatar must be present oooor
(c) a link to a journal entry that has details about all of your submissions, including the variation that you've decided to work on.

2. You must submit your art to the correct variation folder.
This should match the info in your artwork description. Only works submitted to the folders Variation 1-5 and Miscellaneous will be accepted.

3. You may only submit 3 entries per week.
If one of your submissions is denied, it does not count toward this total.

4. All artwork submitted must be your own.
We ask that you only submit artwork that you are the creator of. If we find that you’ve submitted stolen artwork, we will remove the offending submission from our gallery and report it to DeviantArt staff.

100 Themes Challenge will never deny art submission because of the artist's experience or ability. However, we do ask that you present clean artwork that you've done your best on.

There are no restrictions on the order in which you submit your themes, the amount of time you take or the medium of art you choose to use in your submissions.

Just have fun with the challenge! =D

I have been working on my 100TC for over two years now and I use Buddypoke from Facebook/Myspace. I do however draw behind, on and around the buddies and create a new buddy with microsoft paint...i have not submitted any of them yet because i fear no one would appreciate me using Buddypoke. so i thought i'd ask...is it ok if i submit my entries for the 100 Theme Challenge Variation 1 using buddypokes? i have about 40 themes done already if you'd like to view them first.

Yeah it's up to you what you submit, just as long as it follows the rules.
It's a good was to get it out there for people to add critique too

This group is for people doing the 100 themes challenge. People pick a list of themes and do art based on those themes.

Can we colour line arts and count it as a theme? I can't sketch the basic picture because I'm new to PS CS5, but I'm learning to colour; it would be my best artwork then =D

I wasn't sure if it would come under the stealing art work, but I have given the lineist creadit in the submission.

A stupid question, I'm an asshole.
What are variations? Is it something like "Hey this is my 100TC, I'm doing it for the 2nd time so it's variation 2"?

A Variation is basically a list of 100 themes, there are 5 diff lists.

what if the artworks we submitted are in more than 1 Variaton?

Then you can decide if you want to put it in the var. 1 folder or the other variation folder, up to you.

I didn't undestand one thing, about the "link to the journey entry", is it really necessary if it is a picture? Must I explain the picture or something?

Tbh either A or B is accepted. You don't HAVE to link to a journal but some people find it easier to manage their work when they can find it all in one place.
Also if you want into the HoF it's easier for us to check if you've done them all but you could easily just have a folder in your own gallery for 100TC stuff.

Some rules are stricter than others, hope this helps. Any other questions just ask =]

"3 entries per week"

Is this per 7 days, or does the counter reset on the Sunday/Monday of a new week?

3 per 7 days, it won't allow you to submit anymore than that.

So far, I've done 77 out of the 500 (cause if you multiply the 100 themes per variation by the five variations, you get five hundred) themes in all :D I love doing the 100 themes challenge, and I hope to do them all :)

so if I mix up the themes a bit, but i get the majority of the themes from V1, do I have to put the things from V5 (for example) in the V5 folder or leave it as V1?

I'm a bit confused and I'm not even sure if I'm doing this. ^^;

You put the ones for V1 in V1 and the things from V5 in V5. If you'd rather have all your submissions in the same folder use the misc folder, that's what it's there for.

Hey! So, I can do, for instance, Variation 1, but let's say the first theme is a poem, the next a piece of prose, the next a photo. Is it ok to mix mediums in a variation like that?
